my child is 26 months old and has had a low fever for 4 days is it a flu or more? last week our cat bit and scatched him. it wasnt bad, it was like awarning. I didnt see blood but he still has the scatch and it looks normal. i’m afraid of cat scatch fever. there is a flu going round, or is he getting more teeth. he has had diarrha too

Sounds if he is cutting teeth.He also may be cranky.

Go to a doctor,fever after four days isn’t normal.don’t worry though just go and see a doctor

Well…for 4 days with a low fever is prett long. It is hard to say exactly what it is. But it could be a minor cold. I doubt it is the flu…but I suggest you bring him into the doctor.

Cat scratch fever is unlikely, especially since it did not break the skin and it can take up to 7-14 days for symptoms. When it happens it is usually very benign and self limiting. The serious form has far more symptoms that your child has, he only has the fever. There are flu’s going around it very likely that he may have the flu. Also too teething can also account for the fever and diarrhea. Keep any eye on him and if symptoms persist or get worse call his doctor. Generally they say a fever for longer than 3 days uncontrolled with meds like Tylenol or Motrin should be evaluated. Best of luck.
