Please your advice and any links to information about flu shots?

My daughter had her 9 month check up today and I asked the doctor about the flu shot. She told me babies 6+ months should have it and so I was going to schedule an appointment for one but I wanted to research a bit first. She says it gives flu like symptoms for a few days…has any ones child experienced this? Plus is it safe? I just **** to see my child jabbed with a needle for a shot that is pretty worthless…so what do you think?
