Any remedies to ease the discomfort of symptoms from the stomach flu?

There is a bug that has been traveling through my entire family since Christmas and it has now made a pit stop at my house. I have two children and they both woke up with it this morning. Like clockwork it’s vomiting followed by diarrhea. This is the first time I sat down all day and now I feel like it is closing in on me, too. HELP!!! I know to keep the fluids going in and the Lysol on hand but is there anything else that I can do? Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. :0)

The flu shot and heart conditions?

My son has a heart condition and is at high risk. I always get the flu shot along with him. BUT my husband (my sons step father) refuses to get the flu shot. (he is petrified of needles) I know the shot isnt 100% bullet proof. So I was wondering if my hubby was to actually catch the flu this year could my son catch the flu as well since of course we all live in the same household, even thou my son has had the vaccination. I’ve read that if you live in the same household as a high risk child that everyone should be vaccinated. So does anyone know if its possible for him to get the flu even though hes been vaccinated? Thanks in advance for your help.

For about three days now I have felt like crud. I have like a 99.3 fever and I have a stuffy nose and a stomach ache and my head kind of hurts. Yesterday and the day before I had a very sore throat..is this the flu or a bad cold?

One Day Sickness? Help Please ?

OK so now yesterday i was sick it started around noon with just my body aching and sleepy and just got worse i went home and slept for about three hours then i woke up with this realllly rally bad pain in my chest. and it continued so i tried to go back to sleep. then when i woke up again not to long it just hurt really bad. so i stuck my finger down my throught and i threw up alot! and then i was just sore so i went to bed sleeping on and off throughout the night and now today i feel all better.

am i still sick now am i contagous?

Flu Shot: Please share your knowledge, opinions & advice about vaccinating children for the flu?

My children are 6 months and 5 years…Our doctor is very pushy about vaccinations…I am not against them I just choose not to give them all at once, so we have spread them out using a modified vaccinating schedule. Our pediatrician thinks I am nuts, and now he is recommending the Flu shot for both kids…I am curious what your opinions are about vaccinating young children, especially my 6 month old.
13 CommentsI will probably vaccinate my son who is 5. But I am undecided about my 6 months old daughter.
Like I said I believe in vaccines, and what they do and why we have them, but I think they give too many, all at once and that there are REAL questionable ingredients in some of them, and that most studies are really unclear!!!
I hope I don’t get too many rude answers…I am mostly looking for opinions & personal advice…or even links to help me make a more informed decision.
I am a parent and it is my job NOT to blindly trust any ONE person…

last 4 days ive been feeling pretty tired and achy and i dont have a fever that i can tell but i dont have a thermomitor so i havent taken my temperature but i dont feel warm also having slight headaches and it mostly went away but my jaw and cheek area has been a little achy and my neck a little sore this sound like the cold or flu?

Please give me a good website to find out things about Avian Influenza, Anthrax, Haemorhagic Fevers, Cholera, Hepatits B, Diptheria, HIV, Influenza, Leprosy, Plague, Smallpox, Yellow Fever, and Tetanus; things like their scientific name, symptoms and virulence; known reservoirs and vectors; and their geographic isolation and treatments. You guys would be doing me a HUGE favor. Give me some good websites. I have already used the World Health Organization’s website and the Center for Disease Control’s website.
