I just had pneumonia, treated with antibiotics. Could I be having another cold?

What causes uncontrollable shaking when your entire body turns chilly?

Last week I begun feeling weak in my joints. Later I became so cold that I began shaking uncontrollably for about five hours, and only stopped after three layers of clothes and under a comforter for five hours. I live in a tropical (very warm) country.
My voice cracked and within three hours it went for three days. Not a sound. Scary.
now have symptoms of flu, with the usual sporadic awful cough that seem to rip my midsection apart. I am expelling an unusual amount of mucus, but interestingly not from my nose. At the back of my throat there are reds spots.
I have gargled with warm salt water, and steamed my face with hot steamy water and that appeared to have helped my voice return.
I am taking a tea spoon of pure honey plus raw garlic, but I’m still coughing, badly.
Do I have any choice but to take antibiotics?

Flu shot and antibiotics?

I read on Wikipedia that the flu vaccine’s only contraindication is a known allergic reaction. So why do they ask if I’ve had any other shots, or any antibiotics?
2 CommentsAbout 8 or 9 days ago, I got a shot of antibiotics, and have been following it up with Septra DS/Bactrim DS. I am just finishing them up - should I skip the last few pills, or keep taking them as normal? Would they affect the effectiveness of the vaccine or produce other complications?

Why do doctors keep prescribing antibiotics for the flu when antibiotics are powerless against viruses?

Antibiotics are anti-bacterial, not anti-viral and doctors know that full well so why do they keep giving people antibiotics for no reason when they know that they will do more harm than good? Haven’t they pledged to do “no harm”?

How likely is she to have recurrent ear infections?

My 18 month old daughter has an ear infection. I thought it was her first, but it actually isn’t. I remember back in January, she was diagnosed with an ear infection, then 3 days later, her dad got the flu, I miscarried a day later, then her dad got strep throat a day after that and the next day, I got his flu.
No CommentsAnyway, the doctor who diagnosed this time said her right ear was bright red and bulging. This is her second ear infection in less than a year (9 months). She is on antibiotics and Motrin.
I began ear troubles, constant ear infections, 9 sets of tubes in 9 years, at her age (18 months).
How likely is it that she will have recurrent ear infections, if:
A) I did and;
B) This is her second in less than a year?

Can I treat a yeast infection while still on the antibiotics that caused it?

I was put on Bactrim about a week ago for an infection and it has now given me a yeast infection. I still have two days left of the antibiotics and I don’t know if I should wait to treat the yeast infection or if I should wait.

Very worried about sick cockatiel?

I have a sick cockatiel. She is not eating and droops her head onto her wing the whole time. She is not alert as usual, and has not touched her food for two days straight. I can’t reach an avian vet, and I don’t want her to die. Please what can i do to help her and im sry to say i dont have any antibiotics or avian medicine. PLEASE HELP ME im really worried about her!

What is the best all natural immune system booster from a health food store?

I was just really sick and had to be on antibiotics, so once I’m off them and better I’d like to go to the health food store and get things to kind of fix myself up, since taking any kind of “meds” makes me uncomfortable. Are Probiotics or any kind of protein drinks, etc any good? Thanks!

I am about 8 days late and don’t have any symptoms…However, I have never been late on any of my periods..Also, I took antibiotics and was wondering if it could be the antibiotics making my period late or using the withdrawal….I don’t feel any pregnancy symptoms and have had two negative tests?What could be up?
