Why am I showing signs of hypothermia?

What is wrong with me? Why am I showing signs of hypothermia? I haven’t been outside but to go from the car to indoors. Yesterday I was incredibly tired of being sick so I gave in and went to the ER. My temp was 96º. My normal is around 96.7º. They told me I had a bad sinus infection and possibly had the flu (Influenza A is running rampant in my town right now), but weren’t going to test me for the flu since I was 4 days into my illnesses. I told them this felt more than just that. I told them the night before my temperature was 94º and they raised and eyebrow to it but said it was nothing since I was 96º right then. I left the ER and within 10 minutes I started shivering really bad. I went and picked up my kids, came home fed them and got them to bed. The entire time (about an hour) I was shivering like mad, I still has the weakness and muscle aches and pains I told the ER about. I thought nothing of it, just thought I was cold. 2 hours after leaving the ER I was shivering so much I was twitching. I took my temp and I was 93º. My husband had to strip and get in bed with me with the heat up and blankets on to warm me up. Took me an hour to stop shaking and after all that time I was finally up to 95.2º.

Today I have been right around 95-96º all day. Tonight I am reading 94.2 to 95.0º. I am shivering again. I tried looking up signs and symptoms of hypothermia and I had most of the signs last night and per my temp and signs I was ranging between mild to moderate. I am starting to shake like last night again. What gives? Why am I becoming hypothermic when I haven’t been “exposed” to conditions that generally cause it?
I live in Idaho btw :o)

In my town there are 2 hospitals, but only one has an ER. I have no insurance so its incredibly hard for me to go to the doctor. Only reason I caved and went to the ER is because I have no money right now for the doctors office and because they have a patient assistance program to help with the cost of the visit. Not to mention they are a public ER so they can’t refuse service.

As for MRSA I suppose there is a chance of that, but I thought it generally resulted in open wounds? One of my co-workers had MRSA diagnosed a little over a month ago. But she was told she can’t pass it to use unless we come in contact with her open sore.
Oh btw I started amoxicillin for the sinus infection Sunday evening (after the hypothermia symptoms started).

Why do doctors keep prescribing antibiotics for the flu when antibiotics are powerless against viruses?

Antibiotics are anti-bacterial, not anti-viral and doctors know that full well so why do they keep giving people antibiotics for no reason when they know that they will do more harm than good? Haven’t they pledged to do “no harm”?

Does anyone else get headaches and coldness with dieting?

I am 31 and since starting a high protein low carb diet I have had tension headaches constantly, have been very irritable, and cold for no reason. Anyone else have similar occurences? I eat 6 times a day and don’t eat after 5:30.

What is this patch on my tongue?

I noticed i patch on my tongue. It looks like all the taste buds in that area has been removed or something. It is rather smooth. I have had patches on other parths of my tongue, but not as big as this one. It doesnt occur often, but I am kind of concerned. Haven’t burnt my tongue and it doesnt hurt.or anything. I’ve had the flu this past week. Could that be the cause? If it is, what was the reason for having the patches all the other times?

How do I get rid of viruses and annoying, offensive pop-up ads?

Offensive **** comes up sometimes for NO reason and it’s changed my homepage to some seemingly untrustworthy virus removal website. Get notices at the bottom of my screen CONSTANTLY that there is spyware and adware and a pernicious virus on my computer. HELP!!

Why would my daughter always be running a fever?

My daughter who is 8 years old is always running a temp of 100.3. She don’t complain of being ill or anything but we have recently been taking her temp due to the fact that we are keeping and eye on it to see if it ever goes down. Sure enough for about a month now it has not gone down. Does this sound normal or is this something that you think should be checked out?
By the way I did take her to a pediatrician (well nurse practitioner) which we don’t care for too much.. She claims its ok .. She says its not really normal but she don’t think it’s anything to worry about. So to the person that said take her to the dr. duh.. I did and maybe if u don’t feel like answering questions then don’t answer them!! No reason to be ignorant to people who are just asking advice!!

Cough after flu shot?

my dad got a flu shot couple weeks ago and now he has severe cough for no reason and it has stayed for couple of weeks anyone know a reason? and if anyone knows a remedy for temp because he cant even sleep right and it hurts me as his son to not be able to do anything anything i can make right now for him to be able to breath and not cough too much? any hot drink ANYTHING

Sick baby with low white blood cell count?

The reason I need to know this is a long story, which I don’t feel like typing :)
But when an infant (12 months) is sick, with a suspected virus, shouldn’t their white blood cell count be elevated, because the white blood cells are supposed to fight infection? What would it mean if an infant was sick (cold/flu symptoms, high fever) for 5 days and had a WBC count which was below the normal range for a healthy infant?

Her count was 3.5
