Common cold or sinusitis?

How do you know if what you have is a cold or a sinus infection? Or does one cause the other? I’ve been having colds almost every weekend lately, but accompanied with a pain between my eyes, so I guessed that it was sinusitis, but how do you know for sure? And what treatment will I need?

Could it be Valley Fever?

In December I was horribly sick with a flu. Doctor thought it was a normal flu which went into a nasal infection. After a few weeks of antibiotics I felt fine but another issue arose. Every night for the past couple months I’ve woken up at around 1:30 am with a very mucousy cough. I’ve tried allergy pills, mucous pills, and I recently returned to the doctor about the cough. She said I had another sinus infection (which I disagreed with) and it was causing post nasal drip, causing the cough. I’ve had sinus infections before and this didn’t feel like one. I’m on antibiotics now. Before reading about valley fever I noticed that I was also waking up in the morning drenched in sweat. I guess increased sweating is a symptom.
Anyone else have a similar experience with Valley Fever?
I live in Arizona and I’m around dust and construction ALL the time.

What is the best thing to eat and/or drink with a sinus infection?

Ok.
I have a sinus infection…and I was wondering what’s the best thing to eat and/or drink.
My voice is horse and I want to know if there is anything that will help it.
……oh I have been taking an antibiotic and some cough medicine for about 3 days and nothing has really changed. Do I need to give it more time?
Please help.

Why can’t you taste anything when you have a cold or the flu?

Like when you have any sort of viral sinus infection be it cold or flu, why can’t you taste anything? That just makes being sick **** that much more!

Just wondering because I know I have gotten yet another sinus infection and really don’t want to have to go to the doctor. Are antibiotics the only way to get rid of a sinus infection?
