My laptop will not shut down and no viruses?

I’ve done several virus scans and they’ve all come back clean. But, my laptop will not shut off. I have a HP Pavillion notebook. It just stays on the shutting off screen. You have to manually shut it off by taking out the battery. Any ideas why?

I have to ride crowded trains almost every day in Tokyo where thousands of people are coughing and sneezing around me. I **** getting sick so this winter I’m going to do everything I can to prevent it! Would wearing a surgical mask really help prevent me from catching something or can the viruses penetrate the mask?

Why don’t fundies consider evolution of viruses evolution?

Seriously, I am confused! For example the flu virus that I currently have…cough…cough… is not the same virus that was here 50 years ago. It has morphed into another species over a small period of time. The only reason we cannot see this in larger animals is because viruses go through generations at an exponentially higher rate.
a virus into a squirrel? Wow! Okay they are on wayyyy different branches of the evolutionary tree. A virus is a highly evolved animal much like the squirrel, they just have different needs, and so have evolved completely different. They were cousins from a couple of billion years back.

How come there is a vaccine for the flu, when it has been stated that viruses cannot be cured (treated) ?

I was talking with my sister and we were discussing how HIV attacks the body. Then we study for our Biology test and we came across that if a patient has a virus you don’t treat it you treat the signs and symptoms i.e. headache, sore muscles, nausea, and fever. And why is there not a vaccine to prevent contact of HIV just like the ones they have for the flu.
